Hello, friends!
I’m in love with this dreamy new addition to my knitwear wardrobe. This blouse is a light and lofty staple which I know I will wear and wear. Here’s my review of the gorgeous Cumulus Blouse by Petite Knit.

Cumulus Blouse Review
I settled on this shade of sky blue as it looked so good in the Ravelry test pictures. This colour was achieved by holding two types of yarn together: one strand of grey lace and one of blue silk mohair. This combination of fibres creates a fabric that is super soft, has wonderful drape and is almost translucent – adding drama to the romantic billowy shape.

The pattern is a fairly simple knit once you learn any new techniques (as are most of Petite Knit’s stunning designs). The Cumulus Blouse gave me the chance to master the i-cord bind-off on the hem, neckline and sleeves – a detail which I think really finishes of the sweater in an understated and elegant way.
Firstly, the yoke is worked top-down to shape the v-neck and raglan sleeves. Stitches for the armholes are left to rest before knitting the body stockinette in the round. I played with the increases and decreases on the body to suit my figure: reducing the size at the waist and increasing to allow more room at the hips. After binding-off the body, the sleeves are knit with decreases. I made an error here as I didn’t read the pattern fully (always read the instructions!) I rushed some decreases at the end of my sleeves instead of spaced throughout. To finish, stitches are picked up along the neck and finished with matching i-cord.

Things I love about this pattern:
- Soft and lofty fabric created when using mohair with silk lace.
- Elegant v-neck and pretty raglan sleeve details.
- In addition, the design is seamless with minimal finishing. But do pay attention to finishing the i-cord properly.
- Above all, a great year-round staple. I might have to knit another!
