I feel like I have been seeing beautiful collars wherever I look – on billowy cotton dresses or in the form of sweet detachable peter pans. With the wonderful Collar No. 2 pattern, I set out to make myself a lacy version of this pretty trend.

Since I started knitting, I’ve been awestruck by the multitude of shades that can be achieved at home. Carrot tops, avocado peels and pomegranate seeds are all next on my list, but for my first experiment, I chose simple onion skins and tea.

When I saw this sweater on Instagram, it was love at first sight! I’ve been looking to jump into more colourwork knitting in 2021, and Hanne Rimmen’s stunning Holly Sweater proved to be a great place to start.
